Production Diary

| Jul. 21st, 2008 11:02 am Signing off for now folks... To all our friends, fans and any future interested parties. Since our baby, "Ten 'til Noon" is long completed and out there on the market, it is now time to turn our attention to new endeavors. After today, June 21, 2008, the blog will no longer be posting any new entries. We do hope you'll stop by now and then to see all that is here, as there is always a new audience member waiting out there. Keep an eye out for Paul Osborne's documentary, "OFFICIAL REJECTION" which will be exploding across the internet, festival venues and hopefully MOVIE THEATERS near you in the coming year!
Thank you for all your friendship and support.
Best,
Scott Storm and Paul Osborne.
P.S. We couldn't have done it without you. Leave a comment

| Jan. 22nd, 2008 10:39 am This be it folks... Well WHEW! Three years since it's inception and the film is out on DVD and doing pretty darn well for our beloved domestic and foreign distributors. Hopefully you all have had a chance to rent the film and check it out, or even more hopefully added it to your DVD library! We appreciate all your love and support.
This journal entry shall close the journey of "Ten 'til Noon", but be sure to keep a lookout on the horizon for more great things from Scott and Paul. Even as I type this, the stylish and sexy thriller "MATCH" is being developed, hopefully to go before the cameras this year. And if we're ALL lucky, you might even get to catch a sequel to our little movie, "TEN 'TIL MIDNIGHT", which is slowly and steadily taking shape.
Thank you all again for being friends and fans. Let's do this again real soon!
Much love, Scott n Paul 2 comments - Leave a comment

| Aug. 28th, 2007 09:18 am TWO WEEKS!!! Hello friends and fans,
Just your friendly, neighborhood indie director obsessing again about the impending DVD release of "Ten 'til Noon". Really, could you please buy it? If not...just rent it. We hope you enjoy it, though it's certainly not a guarantee. When I think about how many films are made every year, and then how FEW actually get released in any form, I am humbled. We have been very, very fortunate.
So if you are reading this and believe in good karma, please help spread the word. We have only our army of devoted fans to help us make this work. We'd love to see all our actors and crew get what they deserve, and we'd REALLY like to bring you another movie. Our future is now in your hands...or will be on September 11, 2007.
I'd love a marguerita, but I'm at work. Green tea will have to do.
Peace.

| Aug. 11th, 2007 07:08 am ONE MONTH COUNTDOWN!!! Woah, it's nearly here. After all these years of hard work, hustle and incredible runs of luck, "Ten 'til Noon" will be released in the US on DVD!! Considering what it takes to get ANY kind of independent film out there, that is one hell of an accomplishment in itself. We, of course, did not do it alone and we will be hosting a DVD release party here in Hollywood on September 10th, just to say THANK YOU to everyone who put in their time and helped us along the way. If any of you local fans out there would like to come, comment here and we'll see what we can do. It's by invitation only, as space is limited.
YIKES. Not sure if I'm overjoyed or terrified...but this is the real thing. We pray for the movie's success, not that it already hasn't been in many, many ways. Also, we look forward to moving on. As with all things, the end comes and you get your closure. Then hopefully, the next adventure begins. Thank you all once again for your interest, support and patience during this last...GULP....THREE YEARS. Good God, I need a drink.

| Jul. 2nd, 2007 06:17 pm The end of the journey is near... Hello everyone. Sorry we've been remiss in posting anything on the site in awhile, but live tends to intervene. Paul is busy editing away on OFFICIAL REJECTION, the documentary that started as a chronicle of our movie's festival run and quickly morphed into something a hell of a lot funnier and more interesting! The world should get it's first glimpses of this picture in '08...hopefully not '09, but Paul tends to be a very slow cutter. Shame on you, Paul.
ANYHOO..."Ten 'til Noon" will be available on DVD this September! We had a brief but rewarding theatrical release this past March and April, and we're very grateful to all those who helped make it possible, most especially the folks at Laemmle, Harkins and Cinema Paradiso in LA, Phoenix and Fort Lauderdale respectively, and also Bruce Tizes, Phil Bligh and Debbie Yones at RadioLondon Films. These fine people are the ones that had enough faith to get us distribution in the States!
You can pre-order the DVD at Amazon.com right now, or...if you're mindful of watching every penny, you should be able to rent it on Netflix or any other popular rental store. Once again, Paul and I thank each and every one of you for your support since the very beginning. It's been one hell of a ride.
Yours in peaceful insanity,
Scott Storm (herr direktor) 1 comment - Leave a comment

| Mar. 27th, 2007 10:16 am THE COUNTDOWN... FOUR MORE DAYS, folks! "Ten 'til Noon" starts its theatrical run in the U.S. this Friday, March 30th, 2007! It's been a long, hard road with lots of cheers and tears, but it's finally here! Any of you that are local, if you drive by the Laemmle Sunset 5, at the corner of Crescent Heights and Sunset Boulevard, you can see the huge banner for the movie from the street! Below are the details of the Los Angeles run. Soon, we'll roll out into other states and other venues!

Now, a very kind journalist in Orange County dubbed us "The Best Film since Pulp Fiction!" High praise indeed. Both Paul and I are are huge fans of Tarantino AND Robert Rodriguez. So you can imagine how elated I was to attend the WORLD PREMIERE of GRINDHOUSE, last evening at the Orpheum in downtown Los Angeles. I was priveleged to be among the very best in the business, and I only wish I'd mustered the courage to tell them so. Alas, I was content to sit back and watch it all happen around me and keep on dreaming big. The entire female cast contingent even sang "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" to QT, which was real treat to witness. Especially since my own birthday fell just a day previous! Happy Birthday indeed QT, from ALL OF US at "Ten 'til Noon"! Click below for really BAD quality but VERY cool clip of Quentin and Robert that I took with my camera phone. It's 15 seconds of Quentin encouraging the audience to take a nice bathroom break so you can come back and just "Figure shit out." What an amazing duo they are. My hat is off to them both for paving the way for we filmmakers who have yet to make our marks. THANKS GUYS!

| Feb. 21st, 2007 09:52 am New trailer! Hey folks,
Our new theatrical trailer, currently playing in cinemas, is now available to view online properly. The TRAILER 2 button will be active momentarily on our SNEAK PEEKS page, but for the moment, you can view it at http://www.tentilnoon.com/trlr2_web.mov.
Be sure to leave a comment, either here or at our myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/tentilnoonmovie), and let us know what you think.
In Scott's earlier comment he mentioned that we open in LA on Friday, March 30th, but don't for a second think the release is limited to LA. Opening at the Sunset 5 (as we are) has been a dream of ours - it's just about the coolest indie film stop here - but TEN 'TIL NOON will be expanding into other cities in the following weeks. Check back here for details as they solidify.
We also want to give a big smooshy thanks to our distributor Radio London Films (http://www.radiolondonfilms.com) for their support, and for putting us in theaters!
Yours in spine-tingling terror, Paul Screenwriter Extraordinare! Leave a comment

| Feb. 1st, 2007 10:32 am TTN THEATRICAL RELEASE!!! Yes, we've been idle...but not for no reason. The holidays are a BUSY time for everyone! That and the fact that we spent some time up in Park City, Utah...shooting the last of the forthcoming documentary, "OFFICIAL REJECTION". We hope to have some clips and other goodies available soon on that site...but if you'd just like a quick peek, just go to http://www.officialrejectionmovie.com/
GREAT NEWS! "Ten 'til Noon" will have a small release starting here in Los Angeles! On March 30th at the Laemmle Sunset 5, we'll start our theatrical run. So TELL YOUR FRIENDS! TELL ANYBODY! We'd love to see you out there! The new theatrical TRAILER is also starting to play at Laemmle Theaters this weekend...and is happily attached to Todd Field's "LITTLE CHILDREN"
Very soon, the trailer will be featured on Apple.com and ComingSoon.net. But if you'd like a sneak peak at the rough version, just head on over to my MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/storm66. It's the second trailer down on the right, just under the trailer for "BURN".
Paul is still chopping away at the OR footage, so I'm sure we'll keep you informed on all the doings with the doc. In the coming months, you'll be able to see a trailer for the film, some funny clips, production stills and Paul's blog...which I'm sure he has the intentiont to start one of these days. For now, you can expect a full-scale online campaign for "Ten 'til Noon", complete with several internet spots. We'll let you know when and where you can find them. Thanks for hanging in there!

| Dec. 11th, 2006 12:17 pm TWO MORE LAURELS FOR TTN!!! Happy December all! Man, does time to go by quickly! An early Christmas for the TTN team came this morning by way of the good folk of IFFYNT Film Festival in Witchita Falls! We were pleased to hear that Paul won yet another well-deserved award for BEST SCREENPLAY, and the elusive Kalman Alexander won for BEST EDITING. Thanks so much to Tony and everyone at the INDEPENDET FILM FESTIVAL for Y'ALL NORTH TEXAS! We hope to join you there sometime soon, IN PERSON! We really do appreciate the appreciation!

| Nov. 17th, 2006 12:29 am TTN WINS IN ASHEVILLE!!! Could it be we made a GOOD picture? Still waiting for a picture to go with this entry, but I'm pleased to inform everyone that "Ten 'til Noon" won the BEST FEATURE FILM award at the Asheville Film Festival last weekend! Paul Osborne, screenwriter extraordinaire, was in attendance and made sure that credit was given where credit was due. Myself I was stuck in LA with an empty wallet...courtesy of all the OTHER film festivals we've attended this year!
Nevertheless...Paul escaped the recent tornadoes by the skin of his teeth and came back with lots of footage for our beloved documentary, OFFICIAL REJECTION. Yes folks...that movie WILL eventually be completed. Someday...one day...before we all grow hairs of GREY! Hee hee. Just kidding, Paul.
Anyway, for those of you who don't BELIEVE that we won, here's a handy link! http://www.ashevillefilmfestival.com/pages/home.htm
Ready it and WEEP!

| Oct. 21st, 2006 09:21 am Nickel is OFF the market!!! Friends and fans,
It is with great joy that I announce that our dear friends Paul J. Alessi, champion of independent cinema, competitive athlete, and TERRIFYING hit-man Nickel in "Ten 'til Noon" and Amie Barsky, a great beauty, accomplished dancer/choreographer, actress...the list is endless, were married on October 20th, just last evening! So to all the fan-girls who come to our screenings and swoon over that tall, dark Italian with the piercing baby-blues, keep dreaming.
I first met Paul and Amie as only images on a screen when I was editing the first season of THE AMAZING RACE, back in 2001. It was quite an experience watching them make their way through deepest, darkest Africa...that place in some weird country called FRANCE, and through the heat and dust of Tunisia. When the show ended, I was able to meet them in person and have been proud to call them friends ever since. Their wedding was the event I had been waiting for!
Sadly, work and traffic forced Paul Osborne and myself to miss the actual ceremony, but the reception was one of the best I've ever attended and definitely one for the record books. As an added bonus, my lady love Maria caught the bride's boquet, and I myself snatched the garter from the air with well-rehearsed skill. Hmmmmmm...think that means something? ;)
CONGRATULATIONS PAUL and AMIE!!!!

| Aug. 22nd, 2006 10:54 pm Official Selections Drum Roll Pleeeeeeeeez... GOOD NEWS! Two of our latest official selection reports come from two VERY prestigious events. I received a phone call just last week from the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, inviting us to play there in the fall. As we are one of only 20 American independents in their very large program, we are deeply honored to have been accepted. Paul being a Florida college boy also lends a bit of cache, as does the fact that the festival directors singled out the writing as particularly exceptional. ;)
Chris Gore waved his magic wand once again and got us a grace period to enter the San Diego Film Festival VERY late, and my phone rang just TODAY with the good news that we had been chosen to play there as well. Many thanks to Karl and Robin Kozak for their patience and generosity. And Chris...well, I'm sure my gratitude is getting a little annoying of late, so I'll try to keep it to a sloppy minimum. WOW. Autumn has ALWAYS been my favorite time of year. Here's the proof positive.

| Aug. 22nd, 2006 10:20 pm The COOLEST Publicity... Good fortune smiles down on us all, every so often. Of late, even in the complete absence of a domestic distribution deal and industry representation for both Paul and myself, (Quite impossible it seems, these days), we had not one, but TWO such fits of smiling. The first came in the form of indie icon Chris Gore, who very kindly took the time to watch "Ten 'til Noon" on DVD. An enthusiastic review appeared very quickly on SuicideGirls.com, and gave us instant credibility. For those who may have missed it, CHECK IT OUT!
http://suicidegirls.com/news/culture/17490/
The second came with my daughter's visit to California this week, and our recent outing at Universal Studios Theme Park. We were waiting on line for the Studio Tour, that is myself, my daughter Tessa, my lady Maria and her two neices, and Paul Osborne's family. We kept noticing that the announcer gal kept stopping people at the head of the line and asking them what their favorite movie was. Paul and I glanced at each other. Since our screening at the FINE ARTS was merely days away, we concocted a wicked plan...just in case she asked either one of US what our favorite movie was. Alas, she didn't...but she DID ask Tessa. Before we knew it, the announcer gal was talking about "Ten 'til Noon" in front of what appeared to be hundreds of strangers, capping it off with: "Well I think before too long everyone will be talking about "Ten 'til Noon!" You just can't BUY this kind of publicity!
Thank you Tessa, your loving father, Herr Direktor

| Jul. 2nd, 2006 09:20 am TTN Rocks Beverly Hills! June 30th, 2006 will be forever etched into history, for it was on this day that "Ten 'til Noon" made it's second, much more successful appearance at the FINE ARTS THEATER on Wilshire. Our first screening took place back in May, but an early afternoon screening on a Saturday failed to attract much of a crowd. This time however, thanks to rabid MySpace bulletins, (thanks dear friends for your assistance! You know who you are!), more word of mouth, flyers, and with a BIG helping hand from SAG, we were able to get a much better head-count. And it turns out, this audience was one of the more responsive we've ever had! I great big THANK YOU to Michael S. Hall, the man who made it all possible and for giving us a second chance.
As an added treat, I looked down toward the front row during the quick Q & A, and saw one of the cast members of DEADWOOD, my favorite show in television! Turns out he is an old friend of our Mr. Duke, Thomas Kopache and he came out to support the movie. We were truly honored and graced by his presence. Thanks Jim!
Also, I had been lucky enough to catch a comedy show at THE ICE HOUSE in Pasadena a week or so back, and the headliner, Greg Wilson, simply had me in stitches. As our own Paul Osborne has a sick, demented twist about him, I thought Greg might enjoy the movie. Lo and behold, through his manager, I tracked him down and he came to the show! Ask and ye shall receive indeed! Everybody, go to www.thegregwilson.com. This man is just poised to be the next big thing in stand up. Who knows? Maybe we'll just have to put him in a movie!
Here's a couple of shots from the big night. Cool T-shirts, huh? They're for SALE. No, REALLY...they ARE!

| Jun. 27th, 2006 05:14 am Toronto loves us, eh? Good god, I'm still tired from all the partying. Hello there film fans! It is with great pleasure and pride that I announce that "Ten 'til Noon" won the BEST OF THE FEST Award at the ReelheART International Film Festival on June 24th! Paul and I had the most HORRIBLE time getting to Toronto, including a six-hour delay at Houston/George Bush Airport, heretofore known as the fiery pit of HELL. When travelling, it will always be in your best interests to avoid this pit (and I emphasize the word PIT) stop. It is the Bermuda Triangle of travel, and we're just thankful we arrived in Toronto in one piece, even if it was 3 in the morning!
While imprisoned in the aforementioned George Bush FIERY PIT OF HELL, we were well entertained by two inebriated Canadian miners who were on their way home from a work site in Mexico...where they had a good time blowing things up and sampling the local...shall we say...horizontal refreshment. It quite lifted our spirits from the depths to which they'd fallen.
The RHIFF folks were utterly fantastic people, and they wasted no time giving us tips on how to market our upcoming screening. We'd been selected as the OFFICIAL CLOSING NIGHT FILM at this fest, so we needed to work hard and fast. Festival director Shannonn Kelly literally dropped us on th sidewalk at City/TV and showed us a booth where literally ANYONE could walk in off the street, deposit a Looney (Canadian Dollar Coin), and talk for five minutes about whatever you wanted. It would then be edited and shown on television! So Paul and I took the opportunity to do just that! We're not sure if it worked specifically in filling the seats, but we had a great screening nonetheless.
Murtz Jaffer, a dynamo boy-wonder media journalist, was also one of the key players who championed the film, talked it up, wrote about it...and gave it one of the votes that took it over the top. Murtz, we are eternally in your debt. Thank you EVERYONE at RHIFF, for one of the most satisfying experiences in our film festival journey. Man, I'm starting to sound like a broken record if you've read our previous journal entries...but hell, I don't care! We are meeting some mighty fine people along the way, and everyone should stay tuned to see how OFFICIAL REJECTION, the documentary that chronicals our trials and tribulations, as it takes shape in Paul Osborne's editing bay and at the official website, which should make an appearance in the not to distant future. Last but certainly not least, our deepest thanks to Tim Juvet, our wayward 2nd assistant director, and Toronto native, who braved pimps, prostitutes and the director's fiery temper during our bizarre hotel shoot in a very WET December winter. He was stopped at the border while trying to make it back to the U.S. to finish the last shoot with us, but his lack of a work visa (you sneaky devil) made it his destiny to remain in Toronto. Good thing too, as he met the lovely Jessica, who is simply amazing and came out to support our RHIFF screening. GOOD CATCH, Tim!
We leave you now with a shot of Paul, Shannonn and myself, as we clutch the fruits of our labor! Long live RHIFF!!!
